Creating games that help my family come together and grow spiritually is a high priority for me.  When I started Rise and Shout, my kids were ages 2-17.  There were not many games that the whole family could enjoy together, but Shout Out was one of them.  My family, young and old, likes to race to find the one, and only one, match on each card.  Once they spot it, they shout out.  Having so many different editions to play keeps the game exciting.

An LDS Shout Out was one of my first games.  My beautiful sister Debbie Wood created the artwork for it.  There are 31 images which relate to the gospel.  Some people have asked what the "answers" are? Or how the images relate? I like to have lots of "right-answers" for my kids.  A 'star' might remind my 3-year old of the star which led the wisemen to Jesus, while my teen might talk about the Telestial Kingdom.  A seed might remind one person that we are suppose to plant a garden.  Another will think of faith.  Still another might think of the parable of planting the seeds in good ground.  All are fantastic answers!  LDS Shout Out is fun to play the traditional way in racing to find the matches, but it can also help kids (and adults) pay attention during Conference.  See my blog post: Help Them Listen.  To help teens learn to search their scriptures, have them open up to verses which have the image.

Do you ever have trouble matching names to faces?  Prophet Shout Out helps you learn as you play all of the prophets from Joseph Smith through Thomas Monson, PLUS all of the current First Presidency and Quorum of the 12 Apostles.  Each picture is labeled with the name.  After a few rounds of Shout Out, you'll be amazed how many faces you now recognize.
Did you know that Shout Out can be played "bingo-style" with groups up to 31 people?  Each player gets one card and six markers (beads, candies, raisins, coins).  Call out one of the prophets.  If it is on your card, cover the face.  When all the faces are covered, Shout Out.  This can also be used during General Conference.  If a prophet speaks, or is quoted, cover their face.
